PROJECT SYNOPSIS

In the late 1970s two FBI agents expand criminal science by delving into the psychology of murder and getting uneasily close to all-too-real monsters.

OUR WORK

We were first approached by Gary Kosko, one of the Art Directors of the show to help create custom replicas of overhead bins from period sets his team was creating of the interior of a 727 and a 737. We worked from 3d models and CAD drawings Gary and his team rendered and built fiberglass pieces to integrate into their set. We built 20+ overhead bins. We were then asked to build 50+ tray tables, and many dozens of other bits and pieces for those airplane interiors. During this time, the Props department caught wind of our services and Props Master John Bankson asked us to create a severed foot. He needed it to be super realistic and stressed that David Fincher has a specific vision and we may need to do many versions of the prop to get it right. We must have done ok, because we only did one version and were asked to rework a couple of severed female breasts that had been acquired from some other source. John then asked us to help rework some small taxidermy bird props. The last project we were asked to complete for the first season was our favorite. We were asked by Gary again to create miniature replicas of vintage motel signs, with working lights and all. These were a blast to make and we used every skill we bring to the table to make these come alive, from computer to hand lettering.
