Lockheed Martin is one of the largest aeronautics development and manufacturing leaders in the world. Tolin FX was approached by their Aeronautics facility in Atlanta, GA to help build an exhibit for their C-130 division. Of course jumped at the opportunity! Lockheed was building a c-130 Simulation Room to help sell aircraft and they needed a replica of the interior flooring of a C-130 and a lighted informational diorama featuring 2 miniature C-130’s. The Sim Room came out great and we caught the attention of Lockheed’s Skunkworks Advanced Weapons Development. They in turn hired us to build 7 different miniature model aircraft from 2′ to 6′ wingspan of variations of their Hybrid Wing Body, to use as tradeshow display models. They have been publicly developing for many years, and all of the lofts that were given to us were always a little off , so we (and now you) don’t know what the real plane actually looks like! Smart when you’re talking about national security.
